Cooking Class

What we eat matters! Research shows certain dietary patterns (more whole foods, fruits, veggies, whole grain, legumes, beans, nuts, etc) improve brain health, heart health and digestive health. It matters for people with Parkinson’s especially, because constipation can be a common symptom and we want to keep things moving through the digestive system! Oral medications also depend on good digestion.

Dr. Laurie Mischley is doing research looking at how dietary patterns influence Parkinson’s progression over time and there are food associated with slower progression and faster progression of symptoms. See summary of research below!

We know that eating new & different foods can be hard and it’s easy to revert convenient foods. We decided to start a cooking class so we could try new, healthy recipes and have fun doing it!
